Bilingual Counselling Service
The aims of this project are to provide linguistically and culturally appropriate counselling service to the people from Viet Nam in London and to work in partnership with Vietnamese community organisations to promote and raise awareness of “Talking Therapies”.
The Bilingual Counselling service offers a confidential and free counselling service in Vietnamese, Cantonese or English by a qualified counsellor. The counsellor is trained to listen with empathy in a safe and regular space, for you to explore your emotion difficulties and think through the things that matter to you.
The counsellor will not give you advice, but will help you gain better understanding of your feelings and thought process. Through working together, you can find your own way of managing the difficulties you may be facing.
You will be invited to an initial assessment, to discuss your needs and whether counselling can help. The meeting takes approximately 90 minutes. Following the assessment you may be offered counselling 6-18 sessions and each session last for 50 minutes.
The counselling service will be culturally sensitive. Our counsellor works within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Code of Ethics.
The Bilingual Counselling Service will not reveal any identifiable information concerning your counselling to anyone without your permission.
The only exceptional to this in circumstances where there is an assessed threat to human life or safety.
